Necklace with picture: photo lockets with your own photo inside

Our photo lockets are a necklace with your picture inside. You upload your photo on the locket's page, we print it and fit it inside, front and back, and the locket arrives ready to open. Each one is a vintage-inspired heart or oval, $75 CAD on a chain with your photo, shipped from Manitoba.

Necklace with picture at Moon & Bird

We have six lockets, each with room inside for a photo or two. The prices are the same for every one:

  • $75 on a 16 or 18 inch chain, with your photo printed and fitted
  • $65 on a chain with no photo
  • $40 for the pendant only, with your photo

So the photo adds $10 to the blank locket, and that covers both sides.

  • Vintage Heart Locket: a tiny heart locket with whimsical engraved detailing.
  • Oval Locket: a tiny oval with a delicate engraved frame that catches the light for a soft, vintage glow.
  • Medium Heart Locket: a soft, puffed heart that sits between the Large Heart and the little Vintage Heart in size.
  • Large Heart Locket: a big, romantic heart wrapped in scrollwork that opens to two heart-shaped windows.
  • Large Oval Locket: our biggest oval, framed in ornate engraving, with room inside for two photos you can really see.
  • Small Ornate Oval Locket: a small oval with an ornate engraved frame. Wear it plain, or add a pearl charm that hangs just beside it for $10 more.

You can see them all together in the lockets collection, or next to our chains and lariats in necklaces.

How to choose

Shape. Hearts feel romantic and a little nostalgic. Ovals give a portrait a classic frame, the way old family photos were often shown.

Size. If you want faces you can see clearly, the Large Oval and Large Heart give the photo the most room. The Vintage Heart and Oval Locket are tiny and quiet to wear, and the Medium Heart sits in between.

Chain or pendant. Choose a 16 or 18 inch chain, or the pendant only if you already have a chain you love. A 16 inch chain sits a little higher on the neck than an 18 inch one.

Your photo. You upload and crop your photo right on the locket's page before adding it to your cart, and you see a preview there, so you know how it will look before you order. Photos from your phone are fine. In a small locket, a close crop works best so faces fill the frame, and clear, well-lit pictures print more crisply than dark or busy ones.

What can be personalized. The photo is the personal part. We currently do not offer engraving services.

Timing. Orders are handled in 2 to 5 business days, and photo lockets ship within about a week.

Materials and care

Each locket's page describes its shape, engraving and chain options, so read it before you choose. A few habits help keep a locket looking its best: wipe it with a soft cloth after wearing, put on perfume and lotion before your jewelery and let them dry, and take it off before swimming or showering. Store it on its own so it doesn't scratch or tangle. Our jewellery care page has the full storing and cleaning tips.
