Hello, and welcome.
I'm Adriana, the owner, maker and designer behind Moon & Bird. I run a one-woman studio in Grand Marais, Manitoba, on the edge of the boreal forest, and sell what I make at markets around the province and here online.
The studio is surrounded by dense forest and tall evergreens that move with the wind all day. That movement is where most of my designs start. You can see it in the chain drops, the way a pearl swings, and the repurposed vintage gemstones and natural freshwater pearls I set into small batches of pieces a few times a year. Those are the pieces marked "Made by hand" on the site. Each one is made at my bench in sterling silver, gold vermeil and gold filled, in numbers small enough that when a batch is gone, it's gone.
Alongside them is the everyday line: hoops, chains and simple pieces that are always in stock, ready to ship, and priced to wear every day.
And then there are the lockets. I started fitting photos into vintage-style lockets at the market booth, and it has become the thing people come back for. You choose a locket, add a photo from your phone, and we print it at exactly the right size and fit it inside, so it arrives ready to open. Adding your photo is $10, and that covers both sides.
